I was recently diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and unfortunately suffered some serious complications, as a result I was admitted to CCU where I spent 11 days, obviously most people find being admitted to a heart unit a worrying experience and I was certainly no exception, however the staff were excellent and I quickly felt more relaxed, it seemed like I was undergoing numerous tests and taking no end of medication but it was all for my benefit and I made excellent progress, I have attended several out patient appointments since being discharged, I have returned to work and can manage every day activities with no problem, when you consider I was struggling to walk short distances without getting out of breath it really does feel great just to go out the door and walk for hours, I would just like to say a big thank you to every single member of staff as well as the volunteers who selflessly give up their time to help, I know I will be on medication for the rest of my life (unless some boffin makes a major discovery) but I can live with that, I'm just thankful that I feel so much better now and am looking forward to being around for a good few years yet, once again a big thank you to everyone, you make a big difference to many peoples lives and it really is appreciated.
"Coronary care, a big thank you to all."
