Visited a&e GP as I was unable to get an appointment with my GP until monday. Have an insect bite which has swollen so wanted it to be seen to sooner than that. Got to a&e, joined the queue. Another patient tried to push in front of me in the queue for reception, the receptionist politely pointes out that I was in fact the next to be spoken to which I appreciated. She took my details quickly and was very polite. I was then spoken to by the nurse straight away then was told to sit and wait for the GP. I expected this to take ages if I'm honest but I don't think I was sat down for even 5 minutes. Was pescribed antibiotics, given them there and then so no need for an extra trip to the pharmacy which I was really pleased with as I had to get back to work. Paid for prescription on the new machines which are really cool and easy to use! I know this isn't always the case when visiting and a&e department maybe I was lucky today but it has to be praised for this! 10 minutes in a&e is amazing. Lets just hope the tablets work!!
"A&E GP service very efficient"
