"non communication"

About: Poole General Hospital

I was referred to the hospital by my GP who spoke to admissions and a man in gyne dept about admitting me. I was told to go to a&e to let gyne no i was there. I was taken more or less straight into a private room as i was unable to stand and dealt with pretty quickly put on a drip and given pain relief. Great stuff couldnt fault them .......until i was then busting for a wee as i couldnt go myslef as i was hooked up ...it took my mum 3 times of asking to get someone to bring a commode (embarressing) which came 40 mins after first asking and only just in time. Then asked why was i in? did gyne no i was coming? As after they rang them they said they did not know i was there! i had been i for four hours by this time shortly after i had a nurse and a student come take me to ansty ! , then a doctor from gyne came reasonably soon after i arrived i was dealt with rather brutally by her ( even the nurse commented on how rough and uncaring and in a hurry she was) and then discharged. ( I realised why as we drove down the road shortly after why she seemed in such a hurry as she was obviously at the end of her shift and we saw her walking down the road) So my overall experience of nhs communication was not good at all. There should of been no reason why I was left for 4 hours after being referred by my doctor ..... and that when a&e went to ask why noone had come to get me that they didnt even know I was there! atrocious! all I can say is it was a good job I didnt have anything life threatening. And from what I can make out again all to do with the lack of staff......... Too much for too little people to do which is why mistakes are being made!!
