"not enough staff"

I was in hospital last week for a very painful condition, although the day staff were more helpful as there were more actual staff i felt very let down at the night staff. Not that I can see it was actually there fault as there just wasn't enough of them but it meant that some basic pain relief needs wernt being made, they were coming eventually to see you and then saying they would come back and didnt for hours ! i would wait till the last min to press my buzzer as I didnt want to be a pain for the staff that were already flat out but when u are in pain and cannot get pain relief when you need it because they are not able to get to you as they have so much to do it can be very frustrating and upsetting. Kneeling at the side of my bed in agony as my pain releif had run out and wasnt strong enough was very upsetting for me.
