I was diagnosed with a fractured wrist in May - the A & E dept were quick to deal with me and the triage system worked very well. I was referred quickly to the Orthopaedic clinic and three weeks later had to have an operation to put a plate in place. The whole experience was a positive one, from the friendlinees of the staff in the clinic to the staff on the Day Unit. I was pretty nervous on the day of the operation and felt the humour and kindness of the staff undoubtledly helped me get through the experience. Follow up was thorough and regular and the Orthopaedic Clinic seem to have a very good efficient system in place. I was seem by 5 different doctors in total but had consistent advice and attention from them all. Physio was arranged at the hospital and i have to compliment the excellent Wrist Classes i attended - this is an excellent idea - as you are given individual attention but also interact with other people in the same position as you. This gives a unique atmosphere and am sure aids recovery.. My recovery has been quick and i have to say i dont think i could have had a better service if i had private treatment. Can you pass this on to all the teams please.
