My daughter Katie was nursed before and after her surgery today. The nurse is an excellent role model for nurses, she listened to and understood our concerns, she liaised with the surgeon and theatre staff to facilitate my presence during Katie's surgery, to minimize her distress. The theatre staff & surgeon were extremely accommodating and made us feel at ease.I was worried I would be in the way in theatre, but I was made to feel welcome and the staff reassured and spoke to us throughout the procedure. Shortly after returning to the ward, the nurse discharged us, speaking to my daughter as a valued person, not just a number or a patient, She displays a genuine caring empathy for patients that is rarely seen, and I feel this should be acknowledged and noted on her staff records. She is an asset to the ward! Thank you
"A huge thank you to the nurse, Treetops, Day..."
