I was a patient in the Acute Admissions Unit at the Queen's Medical Centre for the treatment of chest pains.
I found it difficult to understand the nursing staff, as two out of three did not speak clear English.
Also, you can overhear conversations by doctors and nurses at AAU assessment desks and, at times, remarks made to each other about patients were inappropriate and dismissive in my opinion.
It would take a lot of persuasion and I would have to be very very ill to ever agree to go to the AAU for assessment again.
"Bad experience of Acute Admission Unit at QMC"
