"PR Training needed"

About: Horsham Hospital

I had an appointment for my daughter, when I arrived I said good morning and was greeted with an abrupt yes by the male receptionist. I clarified my daughters name and was abruptly told to go and sit over there. We waited for 30 minutes during which the receptionists never looked over or gave any acknowledgment as to why we were waiting for so long seeing there was no one else waiting. We saw the doctor who was lovely no complaints about her. When we came out of the consultation room we walked through the security doors which locked behind us. I had forgotten to ask the doctor when my daughter could return to school. I pressed the buzzer twice and waited and was met with another abrupt yes by the same receptionist, I told him the doors we just walked through are locked, to which he responded they are locked for a reason, to which I replied I am aware of that. He then said to me what do you want? I asked him could I speak to the doctor again, he replied no (abruptly). I said I just need to ask the doctor a quick question, he then said to me what do you want to ask her? I should have responded, this has nothing to do with you, however I was quite taken back by his continuous rudeness, I told him I needed to ask the doctor when my daughter could return to school. He then responded, the doctor is busy she is doing triage calls I then said I will wait. The receptionist just walked off giving no indication that he was going to speak with the doctor. I was left wondering would I need to use the buzzer again; the doctor walked out a short time later and pleasantly asked me how can I help? I was quite taken back by his rudeness, and if this receptionist is going to be a front person for the hospital he does need training in public relations.
