My Dad spent 4 weeks on Rowan after being sectioned in March 2012. Unfortunately he sufferent psychossis from medication he was taking. Clearly a very distressing time for all the family we found everyone we came across to be sympathetic, well meaning and definitely had my Dad's best interests at heart. We were encouraged to be involved in his care and attended the weekly meetings with the doctors and carers. It took longer than anticipated to stabalise my Dad's state with medication and due to that it was deemed unsuitable for us to visit him initially until he was stable but this was clearly in his best interests. Without doubt Prospect Hospital was the best place for him during this period and we are very happy with the care he received here. The aftercare has been superb with regular visits from a community psychiactric nurse who are always available when needed. I can't speak for the other wards at Prospect but hope this reassures families whose loved ones maybe facing spending some time on Rowan.
