I went into Rowley Hall Hospital, Stafford, on Friday, 22nd February, 2013, for a minor operation on my foot, and I have to say I found the whole experience positive and comfortable. It was not a worrying or dramatic undertaking, I know, but recent comments in the press and on the television newsreels have not really been reassuring. But the situation at Rowley Hall is a world away from this. A blanket was brought for me when I was feeling somewhat shivery, prior to going into the theatre, and tea and biscuits were provided after I had returned to the ward after my "op". There was at all times an atmosphere of calm confidence and all the staff, both in the ward and in the theatre (and the administrative staff) were calm and confident, pleasant, cheerful and courteous - faultless behaviour and attention to detail. I am most greatful to everyone at this hospital for the care I have received. Bettina O'Dair,
