I was admitted to the A & E department with a suspected heart attack, then taken to the cardiac care unit and Bolton Ward. At every stage of my experience including the response paramedic, ambulance crew, I was treated with respect and kindness as well as medical professionalism. The cardiac care unit was particularly to be praised for the way in which the staff truly cared for the patients and their families. Subsequent outpatient visits to the cardiac department have been so unlike such experiences in other hospitals with waits here of no longer than 5 minutes. Some patients may have complained about the 8 days I had to wait for the angiogram and another 4 days for the angioplasty at the LGI. However, it was clearly explained that it was better to stay in hospital than to go home and have a longer wait! Therefore, recent reports in the media on the NHS seem like another world to that of your hospital and encouraged me to make this comment. Thank you[which seems an inadequate expression] to everyone.
