An unfortunate incident left me with an injury to my hand which overnight became increasingly painful leading me to see medical assistance. Although I arrived before 08:00 I was taken care of and immediately seen by a male nurse who kindly assessed and examined my hand before advising of the options for treatment and further assessment. My choice to wait for an X-ray rather than come back later was rewarded with a helpful and polite radiographic section who were happy to assist. Within ninety minutes of arrival I was on my way again with hand tubi-gripped and advice on how the information would be communicated with my local Fracture Clinic. All this was accomplished with the ongoing pressures of the improvements at Newquay and an increasingly busy Thursday clinic. Being very conscious of the continual complaints that are made and the increasing pressures on staff of all levels I felt it important to say a thank you when a thank you is justly deserved. What may well be routine for the staff was undertaken in a way that never made me feel just a number or anything other than cared for. Please pass on my sincere thanks to all staff, from the person who ensured my visit to the ladies was to a clean, tidy lavatory to the nurse and his colleagues who were directly involved in my care. Working in a professional environment myself I understand such results are only achieved by a team and Newquay Hospital today was a prime example of excellent teamwork as well as individual professionalism.
"Excellent individual care and service Thank you"
