i was sent to A&E from my GP earlier this week with an infection. The staff at A&E were very nice and i was seen by the triage nurse quickly on arrival (in under 30minutes). I want to say a special thanks to the doctor who made me laugh several times and explained thoroughly what might happen. I had to stay in the hospital day treatment area on d level to go on an antibiotic drip for 24hours and was given a private room which was a nice surprise. Towards the end of the stay i was moved to the ward due to a gentleman needing the room which was fine as i understand the singel sex accommodation rules in hospitals. All of the hospital staff were very polite and professional. The only improvement i could recommend was keeping me informed a bit more about what was happening. I saw the consultant at 9am the first morning and was sent for an xray and ultrasound. These came back clear, however i only saw the consultant again at 5pm and was told the next steps. Since midnight i had been nil by mouth in case i had needed an operation, so i could have been told sooner that this was not the case to allay my fears and let me eat/drink! Overall a good experience and i left feeling better than when i came in, so thank you to all of the staff that looked after me.
"Fantastic hospital staff and quick treatment"
