I feel it would be quite remiss of me not to compliment all the nurses and healthcare assistants assigned to Bay 4 of MAU during the period of Dec 27th-29th 2013 (all shifts.) With a continuous turnaround of patients,medication regimes,bed making and paperwork their care and consideration was faultless. Toileting,re-positioning throughout the night,help with eating,drinking and constant reassurance for all those that needed it was never too much trouble. Unfortunately I too added to their workload by requiring emergency assistance from ICU in the early hours of one morning (Thanks to all involved there.) The newspaper reports of poor nursing practice and lack of compassion in the NHS could not be found here.The professionalism,care and good humour was a bench mark to all in nursing standards...
