"Been waiting 2-3 months for results."

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

This is the most unorganised hospital I have ever had the misfortune to go to. After being misdiagnosed for 8 months, I finally get referred for a scan. I heard nothing for a month when I received a call from a very rude and grumpy receptionist saying they had been trying to contact me for over a week. This was infact a lie! She then gets even more irritated by my poor signal (which is hardly my fault!). Even though I managed to get a scan arranged for the following week, the staff were late. And a scan which shouldve taken 15 mins took her less than 3 - I was in and out in about 5 minutes! Since then I have had no results. This was over 2 months weeks ago! I have called up 3 times, only to be told that a Doctor would call me within 24 hours... But ofcourse that never happened. I even called my GP 3 times to see if they had my results. They even called LRI up and were told that I would be contacted. This is a disgusting way to treat anyone, especially a 20 year old girl. Do not come to this hospital if you want 'good' treatment!

Dear EJG36

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. The first thing to say is how sorry we are for the upset and distress this has caused you. The events you describe are clearly unacceptable and fall below the levels of care we like provide for our patients.

We would like to investigate this series of events further to see what happened and what lessons can be learnt. If you could supply us with your details confidentially by emailing communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk, we will be happy to investigate what happened and give you a proper explanation.

Alternatively, if you prefer we would be happy to meet with you personally to discuss this and look into things further. If this is better for you please contact Donata Marshall on donata.marshall@uhl-tr.nhs.uk.

Yours sincerely
