"Good care on the whole but protocol needs to be..."

Anything else?

Really nice environment but I think a two night stay is far, far too short after a spinal operation - I really needed that extra day to get pain relief sorted out. A totally hellish journey back home, vomiting and with the runs not really sorted out by the anti sickness drug whacked in just before I left. 24 hours of sickness and pain followed with extreme reactions to codeine and also anti inflammatory medication. I know this is the surgeon's decision and standard practice, but it does need to be raised. However, all this said, the hospital wins hands down in terms of a restful and welcoming environment and I'm still terribly grateful for receiving care here as opposed to any other NHS facility.

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are sorry that you had such a difficult journey home and about the extreme reaction. We do try to ensure that medication is appropriate prior to discharge. We will discuss the concerns raised with the relevant members of staff. It is important to have this kind of feedback so we can continuously improve our services. It is nice to hear that despite the unpleasant 24 hours you still perceived our facilities as restful and welcoming and we hope you are satisfied with the outcome of your operation.
