Anything else?
I went in for bunion surgery and I was apprehensive about my treatment. Me and my mum arrived by 7am and I was given a bed by 9am. I saw a nurse, she was a very nice lady, I also saw the surgeons who came over and introduced themselves. They explained the procedure which was being done today. Later on I met the anaesthetist who was very polite and professional who explained to me about putting me to sleep. I finally went down about 2.45pm. I think I went into the theater after 3pm, I finally came round and my nurse who looked after me in the recovery room. I was a bit wingey but she was so nice. The pain in my foot was so severe and they ended up giving me two rounds of morphine, I was discharged later that night with a pair of crutches that I am getting use to. The only downside was I did not eat or drink anything from the night before so by the time I went down, my veins were flat and they took quite a while to find a vein as I was quite dehydrated which made administering the drugs quite painful. I know the NHS has problems due to staff shortages and cuts to their budgets but overall my experience at King George was a good experience.
