"Visit to A&E"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Anything else?

I work closely with CQC and am clear of the role of the healthcare professionals. During my visit to A&E on the 27th December I observed inefficiencies, malpractice, bad practice, a lack of patient centred care, a break down in communication and not following through with critical information. Bloods were taken with no gloves, sensitive information regarding patient name and conditions was being discussed in my presence, inefficiencies of resources used, consent was not gained for the attempted administration of medication, the repeating of symptoms over 5 times creating an undue surge in pressure which hospital officials attempted to medicate, this I refused. I would approach this hospital with care and attention, question the practice before allowing these individuals to take your care into their hands. I still await a call about concerns regarding a CT Scan.

We are very sorry to hear about your recent visit to A&E. You should be receiving high quality care whenever you come into hospital and we would like to talk to you about what happened and how we can improve things for you and other patients. If you can make contact with us via the Patient Advice and Liaison Service team (email TalkToUs@croydonhealth.nhs.uk or call 020 8401 3210) then you can speak to one of the medical staff. We are disappointed to hear that you have been left with these concerns and are keen to follow this up with you as soon as possible.
