"Excellent care and compassion"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

Saturday morning ill and wife called 999. A responder (Christian) arrived within minutes and proceeded to give excellent service far exceeding expectations and after initial diagnostics called for an ambulance to take patient (aged 69) to local Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Ambulance paramedics continued with super care. Into A and E and seen within half an hour by two staff nurses - lead nurse Jeannette (just smashing she was), and a gentleman doctor.

Treatment was routine to all the staff but welcomed in dealing with the situation. Treatment meant patient recovery and discharge after a few hours without ward admission.

Dear Sir, Many thanks for taking the time to share this feedback of our services. We're sorry to hear that your wife was unwell but it's good to know she was well looked after at A&E. We will pass your comments on to the teams involved in your wife's care and hope she is now recovering well at home. Best wishes The team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Dear malepatientborn1944

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope you are feeling much better.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass on your kind comments to the ambulance staff who came to your aid. In order to do this I will need to know when and where the ambulance attended. Could you please contact me, at your convenience, on 01392 453831 or email laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk. This extra information will allow me to identify the first responder and ambulance crew.

Thank you again.

Laura
