"Excellent maternity and emergency care"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

Anything else?

I wanted to thank the maternity team of midwives and doctors for the care they gave my partner and I when I had to have an emergency C-Section back in June 2013. Complications arose through labour and though I was frightened and bewildered and in extreme pain, I was not only kept informed of precisely what was happening, we were treated with such genuine care and attention it deeply touched us and will always stay with me. The anaesthetic doctor who attended me came back at the end of his shift just to see how I was doing, something he didn't have to do having been on call for hours already and meant more to me than he can ever possibly know. Not only him, but my midwife, and two of the other doctors too, returned not only at the end of their shifts to see if I was doing ok, but also returned on their next day of work to ask how we were doing. I wanted them to know that this simple act and level of care meant more to us than they will probably ever realise. In general, we were kept fully informed at all times, the emergency process was clearly laid out and explained, and my little son and I were well looked after by all after the operation. Thank you so much for everything you all did.
