About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

I would like to say a big thank you to the staff who looked after my Mum when she arrived from Scilly in the middle of Friday night via a traumatic emergency helicopter journey (in the middle of a storm) and for pulling out all the stops to get her back home to her family for Christmas. It's just a shame that the Sister who received her in A&E had to make a derogatory remark about " sending them over for just an X-ray now" within her hearing. It's no fun being 82 years old, recently widowed, in a lot of pain and incredibly frightened to have to be transferred in a medi-vac!! and although our GP's (as that's all we have here) do an amazing job it's pretty hard without the benefit of X-ray eyes!!They say there is no compassion in nursing and while many others showed their compassion for a frightened elderly lady some staff have no heart. It's such a shame that the attitude of one staff member can reflect in a negative way on the rest of a good team. Once again many thanks.

Thank you for your feedback on your mother's recent care at our Emergency Department. We are sorry that an otherwise positive experience was tainted by an unfortunate remark and we will make sure your comments are passed onto the Matron in charge of the unit.
