"dreadful in all wards used"

About: University Hospital (Coventry)

Anything else?

Maternity doesn't care about ladies in labour and midwifes afterwards say they are not there to help. This is 2011 and December 2013. "Staff have had a Christmas party so we're short of midwives"!! Mother-in-law went in for a "blood top-up" able to walk with help and came out in a wheelchair. What should have been a 3 day stay turned into 3 weeks as Sister refused to let her go home even tho the Doctor discharged her. Her food was not put in a position where she could reach it and we were told if we wanted her to eat to go and feed her ourselves. Ward 32 - I was in for 3 days before I was told I had a burst appendix. Nurses on that ward were asked for help and the patient was told I have a degree that's not my job. Their job appears to be filling in paperwork and handing out tablets not nursing. My mother in law was in the Caludon Centre for nearly a year where she was just left in the corner - no treatment appeared to be given her. She broke her leg and was sent to the general where then the leg mended they wanted to send her home not back to the Caludon so they decided to send her to St Cross in Rugby where she was just left in bed and not encouraged to practice walking. It takes us half an hour to get there, the parking is dreadful and I don't know which other hospital we can use instead.
