Anything else?
I had two operations for torn retina in December 2012. The quality of the care from the staff and the surgical team was excellent. I was examined by my optician on a Friday evening in the first week of December and referred to the hospital for an appointment next morning. My assessment was quick and the medical issues explained throroughly, with an impressive approach to minimising surgical interventions to the that necessary to treat my condition successfully. The first operation was carried out by the same Saturday evening. The need for a second operation became clear during reviews of my condition and a second operation was scheduled for Christmas Eve; again the proposed intervention was thoroughly explained and pitched at the necessary level. The operation itself went according to schedule and follow up check-ups were speedily done. The final sign-off/appointment was delayed a couple of times but this was not of any concern to me as it was made clear throughout that if any problems arose I could immediately contact the hospital for attention.
