"Poor Postnatal care at St Thomas's Hospital "

About: St Thomas' Hospital / Maternity care

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter had her baby in mid-December.

She received poor basic care from start to finish. She is a first time mother and barely received any support from the midwife on the ward. The midwife assigned to her was rude and did not seem to care about my daughter or the baby.

My daughter had a caesarean and was just left to care for her baby with no support. She had a drip in and was finding it difficult to lift her baby.

I felt the standard of care was very poor. I would not recommend.

We are very sorry to hear that your daughter had a poor experience in our postnatal ward. We would like to investigate this to see what went wrong and learn how we can improve our service to avoid a similar situation occurring in future. Please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 020 7188 8801 or email pals@gstt.nhs.uk so that we can discuss your concerns.
