Anything else?
I had occasion to visit an Opthalmic surgeon as a private patient at PMH to seek a second opinion. The hospital facilities and staff were excellent. Sadly the Opthalmic surgeon did not measure up. I found him distant and somewhat arrogant with no interest in my case. I would not use him again. My one complaint against the hospital was the exorbitant charge for the Optical Coherence Tomography scan. This is a simple procedure which can be done privately elsewhere for a third of the charge levied by PMH. Sadly I agreed to the charge before doing my research. For most patients this charge is covered by insurance and is probably never questioned. My advice if you are a private patient, is to do your research before agreeing to the various charges.
