About: Princess Margaret Hospital

Anything else?

I had occasion to visit an Opthalmic surgeon as a private patient at PMH to seek a second opinion. The hospital facilities and staff were excellent. Sadly the Opthalmic surgeon did not measure up. I found him distant and somewhat arrogant with no interest in my case. I would not use him again. My one complaint against the hospital was the exorbitant charge for the Optical Coherence Tomography scan. This is a simple procedure which can be done privately elsewhere for a third of the charge levied by PMH. Sadly I agreed to the charge before doing my research. For most patients this charge is covered by insurance and is probably never questioned. My advice if you are a private patient, is to do your research before agreeing to the various charges.

Dear Kerry, whilst we believe that our service offering provides value for money for all our patients, it would appear on this occasion we may have failed to meet your expectations and for this we apologise. We would request that you make contact with the hospital directly on 01753 743434 to allow us to review your specific circumstances. Kind regards.
