Anything else?
On Tuesday the 17th of December 2013 at 6.10pm I was admitted to the AAU department at Watford General hospital with a stomach condition. My GP surgery phoned them at 5pm just over an hour previous to my arrival time as the medical team there suggested I need to be looked at. I did have to wait four and half hours before I was given a room but had already been fitted with a cannula within this time,in my opinion what else could they do to speed the process along..and the answer is nothing,I was put onto these wonderful people with such short notice and am so grateful to the NHS for the service they provide, after all I was a patient so I must be patient. The care I received by the medical staff at the AAU department was fantastic,2 nights on the ground level and 1 night at AAU level 3 makes me very proud of our NHS service and the staff that chose to do this very demanding job at times....12 and half hour shifts,I think people need to recognise this. When I finally was diagnosed and discharged on the Friday 20th at 1pm there was a two and half hour wait for medication in a comfortable room with tea and coffee served if wanted but once again I for one am not complaining for a system that really is a great service to us all and should be praised when justified. Thank you Mr.M.A Gibbons
