"High level of care received"

About: Raigmore Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

We recently spent a few days with our very ill child on the Raigmore Childrens ward. The ward was extremely busy during our stay and clearly resources were very stretched. We felt that all the staff we came into contact with deserved praise for their fantastic approach to amount of the work they faced and also for the very high level of care of received from all members of the team that we came into contact with.

This ward is very lucky to have such a dedicated and hard working team - it would be great to see them rewarded with some extra resources when the winter bug season kicks in!

All the best and thanks again to all!

Dear ThankfullFather

I am really sorry to hear that your child has been very ill and needed a spell in the Children's Ward. You dont say how your wee one is but I do hope they are on the mend. Its great to get your feed back which I have shared with the Charge Nurse and Lead Doc along with their Senior Manager. I am delighted that not only did you get a "high level of care" but that you noticed and appreciated the efforts of all the team. They do work in a high pressured area that can be extremly busy but they are focussed on treating everyone as individuals.

There is some high profile fund raising happening at the moment through the Archie Foundation to develop a new Children's Unit in Raigmore. This will bring some fantastic new facilities that everyone is working hard to deliver. But you touch on soemthing fundamental - facilities are important but the attitude, skill and care of staff is what makes the biggest impact. And at the heart of that is team work and leadership. Let me know how things are and if there is anything else we can do to support.
