"When I attended the clinic I was ..."

About: Rochdale Infirmary

(as the patient),

What I liked

When I attended the clinic I was seen by the doctors. I was advised to have have a hysterectomy. I found the Doctors were very kind and supportive. They explained what would happen and answered all my questions and worries with great understanding.

What could be improved

I was put in a room on my own which I didn't mind but it seemed to be the case of "out of sight out of mind." The care I got from the ward staff was very poor. Not being able to get out of bed for two days because the drip for my painkillers wasn't working and I was in great pain. Three of the instances were I was never offered any help or given any water to have a wash, I used some babywipes I'd brought in. I slept in my dressing gown one night because I was cold, I'd asked for a blanket but no one took the trouble to get me one. Not once did anyone change my drinking water while I was unable to get up even though I was told to drink plenty of water, my visitors did this.
