About: North Manchester General Hospital

Anything else?

I was admitted on to the surgical triage ward via my gp for drainage of a large absess on my lower left stomach area, I was asked to return the next day for tthis to be sorted under general anastetic, I was then transformed to ward d6, the time frame was saterday till Monday morning, I went home, was told my wound needed to be cleaned and redressed daily, by Tuesday afternoon my wound had burst, I was taken to A and E to have this redressed, and told again district nurses would visit to do daily dressings, the next day still no contact from district nurses, and my wound burst in a different place, when I rang the ward to ask for district nurses phone number was told no I could not have it, I explained I was in a mess covered in blood no dressings, I live alone im 53yrs old, I was told see my gp, rang my gp s office to be told they do not deal with district nurses,, so I rang the A AND E department and have been told they will refer me for a district nurse tomorrow, still hasn't helped me today , covered in blood leaking wound, I had to in that state get a taxi to tescos chemist, buy some dressings and stick them on with celatape, and now have to wait till tomorrow to see if any district nurses turn up, so im totatly disgusted with ward d6 attitude, we are too busy we don't care attitude, I have other health problems, they cared not for my dignity a horrible experience still not resolved
