Anything else?
I was given a cancellation appointment in September this year for an operation on my shoulder I was assured as a diabetic I would be early in the list however on the day I sat in a cold ward waiting for over 5 hours and still no operation staff only spoke if I spoke to them and constantly reassured me I was next . I had been told not to eat or take my diabetic medication by the hospital. By lunchtime I was hungry and feeling unwell and still no sign of my operation, I discharged myself and lodged a formal complaint. It took 8 weeks for a response to be told there was no case to answer. The consultant said he had offered me a second appointment where I was to be first that was a lie. The chief executive told me to stop mailing and as far as the hospital was concerned they had behaved appropriately, and I should go back to my GP and be referred into a different hospital. I have spoken to several people who all state they have had very poor service at Kings Mill Hospital.
