Feeling very disappointed. My eight year old son has had trouble with his hearing for some time now, after a number if hearing tests etc we was told grommets were to be inserted. My son had his operation, all the staff at the ENT have been really good and at the Boothroyd Centre. Eight weeks after the operation my son had a routine hearing test, to be honest I hadn't seen any improvement in his hearing since the grommets. When he had the hearing test I was told there was no improvement and they did another test just to confirm. The consultant was very good, she told me that my son was deaf and that he shouldn't have had grommets in, so we discussed his future n she told me that hearing aids in both hears, she said that he probably had hearing problems since birth and said that he had been messed about enough, so she wanted to get the ball rolling. So they took his moulds for his hearing aids the very same day and she got him in for the very first appointment available has it had gone on long enough. The appointment was for today 17th December to get his hearing aids put in and programmed however I received a phone call two hours before the appointment to say they was cancelling the appointment, abd that it would be the middle of January before they can do this. He has already had to wait six weeks, he had prepared himself for his hearing aids too. I know things don't always go to plan but I do think this is rather disappointing he was so looking forward his hearing improving
