"Liver surgery and outpatients"

About: Heartlands Hospital / Colorectal surgery Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

What was good: - After some negotiation I managed to see the consultant of choice.

What could be better: - Organisation and waiting times.

Having had major surgery recently at both Heartlands and QE, the QE would be 7/10 for aftercare with heartlands 9/10....not the result I anticipated.

The actual surgery would be 9/10 QE, with 11/10 for Heartlands due to the team approach taken at Heartlands and Surgical team responsibility for patient care evidenced.

Dear Glocal1,

Thank you very much for your response, I am pleased that both your surgery and aftercare at Heartlands went well and I am hopeful you are on the road to recovery. I will certainly pass on your comments to the relevant teams who will be delighted with your comments.

Kind regards

Margaret
