Anything else?
I recently stayed on the Kings B ward of The William Harvey hospital after being admitted into A&E with appendicitis. My care was incredible. I had an operation to remove my appendix within four hours of being admitted, the operation went well; I was home less than two days later, and am fine now after two weeks. I was most impressed by the nursing staff on my ward. Their care of me, and everyone around me - people of varying needs - was so personal, friendly, respectful and caring I barely wanted to go home. All of us on the ward were brought together in conversation by the nurse if we wanted to, or left to it if we wanted to. Such an approach made a lovely, warm atmosphere on the ward and it felt like somebody's home. Meanwhile, it was obvious that the nurses were having to work so hard, and were incredibly busy, but that never appeared to impact on us - the patients. I thank the staff very much indeed.
