"Medical admissions department"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske)

Anything else?

My father was taken into Treliske by ambulance having collapsed at home two days ago. He may be 82 but he is very much compos mentis. The staff never tell Dad or us what is going on, and frequently change their minds about what may be wrong with him. MA2 told us he had been moved to MA1, they denied his existence and sent us back to MA2. He has now been moved again to Roskear where fortunately the staff are helpful and friendly, but why did no one tell him he was being moved and give a reason? So simple but it would help reassure him and we would know where to go to see him without employing detective tactics and getting cross. Come on Treliske, communicate with your patients! It does not matter how much you think they will understand, try telling them about their care and treatment anyway.
