Our son had a growing skull fracture that was operated on and treated by two Consultants. From the first time that we met them to the last follow up appointment that we had with them, it was obvious that they were going to provide the best level of care and attention that they could, and treat our son as if he was one of their own. They both came over as warm and very caring individuals, taking the time to explain the operation, the risks, the after treatment and answer all of our questions, even going so far as going to phone us at home on more than one occassion to answer questions that we had (to save us the trip of going to see them at the hospital). The operation went extremely well and was a success and the after care that our son then received during his stay in the hospital (3 days) was excellent as well. The nurses on the ward were all caring and couldn't do enough for us, going out of their way to ensure our son had everything that he needed and was receiving all the care and attention he needed to recover properly. As much as any stay in a hospital is not something to look forward to, I can honestly say I would have no hesitation in returning to the hospital for any further operations for my son or the rest of the family, although touch wood that will not be needed :-)
