Took my son to Robert Peel today following an eye injury, he ran into a pole at school. His eye was bleeding and obviously I was worried. Was seen within 10 minutes, but had to rush out and leave my 11 year when I saw the warning signs about car parking charges in reception....apparently he was called while I was outside trying to fill a parking meter. The nurse he saw and who treated him was excellent. However I think it is totally disgusting that I have to rush about and leave my son basically unattended to avoid a 70 pound parking fine..that is a complete joke and the rip off of parking charges at hospitals needs to stop. What would have happened if I had left my wallet at work or had no money on me! When you get a call to say your kids have been involved in an accident the last thing on your mind is money for parking meters at the hospital.
