"Discharge Procedure and red tape"

My mother was recently diagnosed with brain cancer which has of course been a huge upset for her and my family and she is now too old to receive treatment. We accepted it and just wanted to make the end of her days as pleasant as possible for her. She was told she could go home a week ago but is still at the hospital as there were problems with her discharge plan. In this week she has become increasingly more depressed and upset and has now also caught a bug and has an upset stomach. We don't know how long she has left and how soon things will get worse and just wanted her to be in her own home and comfortable and enjoy spending time with her while we can. Instead we just see her fed up and in tears and it's so hard to see her like this. She has bitten down all her fingernails which she hadne't done for many years because she is so bored and depressed. She was optimistic and fine a few days ago when she thought she could go home and now she seems like she has just given you. It's absolutely disgusting to treat someone who is dying like this over some paper work. Surely she could go home before the stupid paper work is processed. Absolutely shocking.
