Anything else?
My adult daughter was taken by ambulance to the Maritime Hospital on Sunday 8th December 2013 at 6.30.For suspected menigitus. I am very concerned at how she was treated in A/E and when transferred to AMU. The staff showed little consideration to her and others especially on the ward. An elderly lady in the bed next to her was spoken to with no respect or dignity. One nurse was shouting at her no explaination as to what was going to happen to her. The call system in place was not answered for at least 10 mins. My sister visited her on the 9th Dec and witnessed pretty much the same treatment. A lady was giver her tea in a plastic wrapped carton which she was unable to open. Please note my sister is a district nurse and found this very distressing. I also work in the NHS and feel this is not acceptable. The overall cleanliness was also questionable.Thankfully my daughter is homeshe doesnt wish to experience this again.
