I had a discectomy operation at St Albans City Hospital on 14 November. All of the people working on the ward were extremely kind, patient, knowledgeable and thorough. All areas of the ward that I encountered were spotless and things ran smoothly. Everything was very well organised, something that was very reassuring. The hospital provides a seminar for patients who are to undergo a discectomy in advance of their operation and I think that that is very helpful in letting patients know what to expect. The pain relief that I received during the operation was good - in fact, I didn't need to use much of the pain relief. Just to re-iterate, I couldn't have hoped for better care and am very grateful to all members of staff.
