"The nursing staff on Oxford Ward ..."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford)

(as the patient),

What I liked

The nursing staff on Oxford Ward are superb. Reassuring, caring and professional.

I was amazed at how cheerful they were, doing 12 hour shifts and constantly on the go.

The standard for infection control and cleanliness was very high.

I saw quite a few doctors and the majority of them introduced themselves. All of them answered my questions and none of them talked down to me. The abandonment of white coats and ties may an infection control measure but it makes doctors seem more approachable.

What could be improved

The Estates and Facilities Dept should

find some money to give the rooms a lick of paint as many of the doors ceilings and walls were badly scuffed and chipped.

The food could be better too !
