Following my routine smear I was referred for a colposcopy. My smear showed high grade dyskaryosis. I have got to admit I was petrified. When I got the hospital the staff were so friendly and really put me at ease. Prior to commence the examination the colposcopy nurse specialist explained in great deal what the examination would entail and possible outcomes. I have a fear of smears as they have been very painful in the past. This was not painful at all, just a little uncomfortable. The nurse specialist carrying out the colposcopy was extremley professional and reassuring during the procedure explaining each step as it went along. I feel confident in the care given by the team at the whittington gynaecology/colposcopy department. Thank you for making an unpleaseant appointment one in which I will not fear to repeat if required.
