the staff on the HD unit are great and know exactly what they are doing. once moved to the main ward or the side ward, good luck! my mother was still on NIV when transferred to the main ward, and on a weekend, none of the staff really knew how to use it. They switched off the nasal cannula oxygen, connected up the NIV, then started to leave the ward without switching it on, leaving her with no oxygen whatsoever. when I asked a nurse to check the oxygen level, she didn't know how to read the level. I questioned her about it, she shrugged her shoulders and left the bedside! Hopefully to get her home soon so she can't be treated by the staff on the main ward, who don't appear to have expertise in respiratory care
