"The crew waited for me so that they could get me home quicker"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Patient transport service (PTS)

(as a service user),

I wanted to express my thanks and gratitude to the ambulance crew you brought me home after my appointment at the hospital. I needed to go for a blood test afterwards, the crew waited for me so that they could get me home quicker, otherwise I would have had to wait for hours before they could pick me up again.

I’m so grateful that they waited for me; they went out of their way to do so.

There was a member of the crew who was in the ambulance with me – they used to be a police officer but I haven’t got their name. It would be great if you could thank them for me.

Dear Frostbite844

Thank you for sharing your experience of our Patient Transport Service.

It is always so rewarding to hear stories of how our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to patients when they need it most.

We can pass on your thanks to all the ambulance crew who transported you home. However to do this we will need to know a little more information regarding your journey. Please could I ask you to either call me on 01392 453831 or email me at laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk at your convenience and we can discuss this further.

Thank you, again, for taking the time to provide feedback.
