"She was brilliant at calming me down"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Oral Surgery & Medicine

(as the patient),

Petrified of dentists but had severe toothache after breaking back molar and after 4 days of agony went to A & E at Dundee Dental Hospital. I was seen by a lovely student after a very short wait. She didn't judge me, she listened to my irrational ravings and she was brilliant at calming me down. I had to get the tooth extracted and once again I only had a very short wait and Megan was the student who pulled my tooth. She also kept me very calm and I was amazed at how painless it all was.

I cannot praise the students and teachers enough, and also a huge thank you to the dental nurse who held my hand all he way through, and reminded me to breathe! After 30 years of being too afraid and embarrassed to go to the dentist I have now registered as a patient at the dental hospital to get my teeth back in order.

I cannot thank the staff there enough for the sheer relief and amazing feeling I have at finally being able to go to a dentist.
