My wife who is 16 weeks pregnant was admitted to the hospital (sau unit) by her doctor around 3 pm yesterday afternoon because of harsh abdominal pains and a fever, upon arriving at 3 pm she was not offered any small amount of food or even a glass of water then and sent home at 12.45 am the next morning. That is 9 hours and forty five minutes that my pregnant wife hadn't eaten, and to make matters worse the tea and coffee trolleys had been brought around and my wife was ignored in her state? disgraceful. to top this all off as my wife was discharged she was asked if someone was coming to pick her up to which she replied no she had driven herself earlier that day, knowing that my wife hadn't eaten or drank for almost 10 hours she was let go and upon arriving home was visibly faint and weary, this is downright dangerous and unacceptable of the staff on that ward to let a woman in my wife's condition go. we will have to return soon enough for my child's birth but this whole experience has made us question the quality of the care offered by your hospital, please respond as i wish to speak to someone about this asap.
