"Maternity and Urology for Lupus"

About: Sandwell General Hospital

Anything else?

When having a child the ward was dirty and unclean, the staff were rude and more interested in not helping you. Recently I've been going in for Urology for my Lupus and it seems the doctors haven't a clue. I've also been going to QE in Birmingham and they have been fantastic and took time to explain what was happening. Sandwell Hospital have been terrible for most of our treatments including when my child was ill and took 7 hrs to look at them in A&E. What a joke. They need to look at the people they hire and not just pass them on to other hospitals. I had blood on the sheets in the maternity ward and when I called them after a c section I was told to get up and walk! Just after 3 hrs after the c section! I was in pain and feeling drained. The urology section didn't understand the pain that I was in due to kidney problems and said they could treat me antibiotics, I have Lupus which is why my kidneys are in pain, the answer given was just to fob me off.... very upset with this as it feels i have to read it up online and tell them!

I'm sorry to hear that your experience of Urology at Sandwell was a poor one. We always aim to put patients first and care for them until they are fully recovered. I apologise that this was not your experience. If you want to discuss your care further, you can contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Team (PALS) by calling 0121 507 5836, 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday. Toby Lewis, Chief Executive
