Further to my incredible treatment in the Cardiac Unit at Blackpool Victoria Hospital in June 2013 I am writing to say a huge thank you to the Cardiac Rehab team who are continuing to care for me post-op with the same wonderful care and compassion shown to me in hospital. I have never known so many dedicated professionals as are all the staff I have been so very fortunate to meet. Yesterday, just when I thought it could not be any better I met with Joanna Sanderson, the Cardiac Team Physcologist who is an absolute treasure with her unique understanding of how major heart surgery can affect people like me and whose compassion enabled me to sleep soundly, without any form of medication for the first time since my surgery, I am not a skilled wordsmith and words alone cannot describe my gratitude to all concerned during the last few months but I hope this helps, thank you so much.

Hi, this is just an update regarding previous stories. I have applied to be a Volunteer Health Mentor at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and if successful I hope to be somewhere near Unit 12 where I received such wonderful care and treatment.

This is my way of showing my appreciation to all the staff who saved my life and cared for me afterwards, for me a great opportunity to give something back and also to help those who are currently going through similar experiences to the ones I went through. It will also allow me to see the great people in Unit 12 on a weekly basis and maybe thank them in person.
