"colonoscopy at UCLH"

About: University College Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Rather annoyed and very anxious as Colonoscopy at University College Hospital was delayed nearly two hours.

I arrived early in case the trains were delayed as I did not wish to miss my appointment after all the preparation.

I was shunted from cubicle to cubicle in the admissions section with my hospital gown on and I did not get a "named nurse" as advertised in the Bowel Cancer Screening leaflet.

However, the Colonoscopy was painless and I was able to watch the monitor during the procedure under sedation.

I did not have any pain after the procedure either and the bowel preparation was not as bad as I was advised

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the delay and experience prior to your Endoscopy procedure. This has been passed on to the lead nurse in the department to review. We are pleased to hear that the procedure was painless and went better than expected. If you would like a further response to the issues raised, please contact the UCLH PALS department.
