I attended the Heart Hospital as a day patient for an angiogram, and as an experienced and highly critical nurse I can say I was extremely impressed with this beacon of excellence. The staff were truly magnificent and put me at so much ease that I had my procedure without any sedation. The nursing staff in both the day ward treated me with the upmost dignity and respect, and the team in the Cath lab were professional and efficient. It was reassuring to see a team safety check before the procedure started so everyone including myself were clear on roles and responsibilities, with the surgeon explaining everything as time progressed.
