Having had excellent health until reaching 70 years of age, it came as a shock to be diagnosed with prostate cancer. My treatment involved 71/2 weeks of radio therapy and hormone injections. I cannot speak too highly of my treatment,excellent care delivered with sympathy and ,always with good humour.. My options were made clear and the result is that I am now in remission,being monitored every six months with a telephone consultation which avoids a hospital visit,great idea! This has been followed with a diagnosis of angina, and once again, I cannot speak too highly of my treatment.Appointments were made promptly, (including cancellations offered at short notice) and my two visits to the cardio day ward for angiograms were marked by the friendly but very professional treatment from the doctors and nurses (especially the lady who made the very welcome tea and sandwiches post op!). My last visit to QA was just after the second angiogram when I had severe chest pains in the early hours. Cutting a long story short, my treatment by the ambulance crew, a short stay in A&E ( the nurses there were lovely, particularly with their care of a gentleman who obviously had "senior" problems), then up to Medical Assessment and there diagnosed with pleurisy, was second to none. Orange ward was well staffed with lovely caring people and was immaculately clean. Well done, QA and many thanks.
